Senior Counsel Michael E. Foreman is a nationally known restructuring lawyer with over thirty years' experience in out-of-court workouts, Chapter 11 and 15 cases before United States Bankruptcy Courts, and in reorganization and insolvency proceedings in numerous foreign jurisdictions.
Michael regularly advises lenders at all levels of a company's capital structure (including banks and financing institutions, second lien and mezzanine lenders, agents, trustees, special servicers, private equity funds, hedge funds, distressed debt funds, claims trading funds, real estate funds and investment trusts, and other investment vehicles), other creditors (including major and ordinary course vendors and contract parties), investors and equity holders, advising on complex restructurings, financings, acquisitions, divestitures, contract negotiations, management transition, and lawsuits, as well as outside general or special counsel providing day-today business law advice.
Michael's experience covers a broad spectrum of matters. He has played a pivotal role some of the nation's largest and most complex restructurings or liquidations under Chapter 11 of the federal bankruptcy code, often in tandem with other countries' corporate reorganization or insolvency laws. He has worked in myriad industries with all types of companies - healthy and distressed; small, middle market and large; local, regional, national and international; public and private-held.
Michael is an active leader in international, New York City, Westchester and restructuring communities and bar associations.
